GREETINGS!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who offers Individual and Couples Counseling.

When I work with individuals, I help them to resolve the issues that hold them back so that they more successfully can face life’s challenges. I particularly enjoy assisting clients as they address personal, family and job conflicts.

I have significant experience with LGBT issues and coming out. I also help clients to live well with HIV.

I specialize in helping individuals and couples upgrade their relationship, communication and conflict resolution skills.

I frequently work with new couples adjusting to partnered life. I also help established couples to make their relationship more rewarding and fulfilling.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Before moving to Denver where I now reside, I lived in North Carolina, New Orleans, the Dominican Republic and New York.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Duke University, and then worked as a high-school teacher, SAT tutor and mentor.

I earned a Master of Social Work degree from New York University.  During my years in New York I worked as an elementary school Guidance Counselor and as an Advocate Counselor for people with HIV/AIDS.

Currently, in addition to my private practice, I work with families of children with disabilities through Denver Options.  Helping families to adjust to the special needs of their children is another of my areas of particular interest and skills.

With regard to community contributions, I sit on the Board of Directors of cityWILD, a program that introduces urban children to the out-doors world of nature.
